Considering market demands and available resource the management of The Institute chose installation, maintenance and promotion of the system of quality, first of all in the laboratories and inspection bodies, maintaining organized and methodical operations present in all levels inside The Institute to fulfill the final goal-satisfaction of the users of our services.

As a result of great engagement and investment of significant funds in the terms of disloyal market and almost without any support, the first accredit laboratories in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to European standard EN 45 001, were laboratories of this Institute. These laboratories are now reaccredit according to international standard ISO/IEC 17 025.

Activities on this significant project are continued in other laboratories of The Institute, too. Today there are five accredit laboratories in The Institute.

The system of quality according to standard BAS ISO/IEC 17 020 was registered and implemented in two inspection bodies. One of these two inspection bodies is occupied with inspection of liquid diesel fuels and has accredit and the other service is occupied with inspection of vehicles for transport of dangerous substances according to ADR regulations and has an authorization of the state agency in charge.

Thanks to quoted activities the approval of The Croatian Register of Ships ( HRB ) was given for performing actions in fewer scopes: machanical, metallographical and chemical testings of metals, non-destructive testings ( NDT ), calibration of force devices, hardness, momentum and temperature and pressure measuring instruments. In theDepartment for Welding a certification of welders according to European standards is being done, so as certification of welding technology. Considering the fact that the system of quality management is registered in this organizational unit according to standard EN 45 013 an approval for certification of welders, tecnologies of welding was given by the same agency.This is how The Metallurgical Institute „Kemal Kapetanović“ Zenica of The University in Zenica was located at the list of utility firms approved by ARB.

Aware of the fact that it is possible to exist in the market only by constant obeying of its demands and by meeting its needs we are trying to follow the trend by equiping the laboratories and by personnel education.
